About this pattern

TECHNIQUE - PLEASE READ FIRST: RAW-EDGE FUSIBLE APPLIQUE

This is a raw-edge fusible applique pattern. The templates print at FINISHED SIZE with NO seam allowance and NO dashed turn-under lines, and they come as numbered full-size layout sheets - not as separate cut-out pieces. You trace each shape onto paper-backed fusible web, iron it to your fabric, cut on the drawn line, peel, press it in place, and stitch over the raw edge with a blanket or narrow zigzag stitch. Paper-backed fusible web is required. This is NOT a turned-edge / needle-turn pattern, and there are no dotted seam-allowance lines to turn under.

The body is built from rich teal and navy blocks banded with golden yellow, and two dark expressive eyes give the creature a wonderfully characterful, folk-art personality. Flanking the dragonfly below are two cheerful garden flowers — one deep magenta with a golden centre, one vivid orange-red — surrounded by lush green and teal foliage and a pair of plump purple buds. The whole scene is framed by a striking teal border studded with a multicolour patchwork strip and bright golden diamond corner accents, making this design as satisfying to sew as it is to display.

Please note on the 11" size: at that scale many of the applique pieces are small (under 3/8"), so it is the most challenging size to cut and fuse. It is included for bag panels and cushion fronts - merge any adjacent pieces you like, or leave the tiniest ones out, and the design still reads beautifully.
